Writing workshops and courses in April 2016: love stories, children's stories, and sci-fi/fantasy

We had a good run for our first set of storywriting courses this year. A big thank you to all our students! We enjoyed hearing your stories. A special shoutout to Maryowni, Bien, and Emman who took the entire set and finished their chosen story, from premise to basic editing, in 30 hours of intense training.

While that set covered general storywriting principles, our courses in April are specific to either a genre or literary form. Each of these will introduce you to some storywriting principles as well but will only focus on the ones that are applicable to the topic at hand. Below is the list of courses. How to Write Love Stories
April 2, 2016 (Sat) at 10:00AM-5:00PM
How do two people fall in love? When can we say that someone actually is in love? Heck, what really is love? Going beyond the classic love story formula, we’ll look into the core of romantic relationships, extracting the principles that’ll have audiences rooting for your characters.

How to Create your Own Children's Storybook (three-hour crash course)
Children's Storybook Series (12-hour full course)

April 16, 2016 (Sat) at 9:00AM-12:00PM / April 16 and 17, 2016 (Sat) at 9:00AM-4:00PM
Create your own 32-page picture book which you could print or convert into PDF. Not a writer or an artist? Fear not! You’ll be given basic know-how, which makes the course perfect for parents, teachers, and anyone who loves kids!

Full course: P5,500 (P4,500 if registered and paid before Apr. 16)

How to Write Sci-fi/Fantasy Stories
April 30, 2016 (Sat) at 2:00-5:00PM
How do you create your own imagined world with its own creatures, rules, and mythos? How could you introduce that world to your audience? How do you build a story within that new world? By the end of this three-hour crash course, you'd be able to build your own sci-fi or fantasy story that's not just about dragons, vampires, dark forests or magic, but about letting humanity take center stage.
